Nearly a decade later, ABS-CBN’s A-list stars are reportedly making a beeline to Pangilinan’s office, begging to do a show on TV 5 after their network got yanked off the air a day after its franchise expired on May 4.

With ABS-CBN losing its crown, TV5 has emerged as the country’s second-biggest network, albeit distant, after GMA 7.  But unlike GMA 7, which has to shed off some stars to accommodate ABS-CBN recruits.

TV5 has more air time and more motivation to adopt Kapamilya celebrities.

Pangilinan said the network is ready to absorb some of the displaced workers of ABS-CBN following its government-backed closure.

Last July 10, ABS-CBN network, has officially stopped its broadcasting operation.

Now, as the network has officially shut down and retrenchment has started, many people are expecting that some of their stars will probably transfer to another television network for work.

Among those Kapamilya stars that transferred to TV 5 is Pokwang, Ria Atayde, Jessy Mendiola.

In addition, John Arcilla, Janice de Belen, and Joross Gamboa are set to judge a game show on TV 5.

TV5’s Bangon Talentadong Pinoy hosted by Ryan Agoncillo.

John, as we all know, is still in the cast of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano”.

Meanwhile, Janice still has the contract with ABS CBN as well as Joross who begins his career with the Kapamilya

“We are revving up our entertainment content creation and will need creatives, talents, directors, scriptwriters, cameramen, etc.,” Pangilinan said in an interview with MVP Group-owned Philippine Star.

“If these are willing and able to work with us, we’re prepared to offer alternative jobs for the relevant displaced worker’s overtime,” he said.

Currently, according to business tycoon, there are no direct talks between the two networks.
