Atty. Nick Nañgit has entered the list of DDS influencers itching to respond to the tweets from Jennylyn Mercado asking if Filipinos need to have a credential to comment on national issues.

In a Facebook post, Atty. Nick explained to Jennylyn from the get-go that her insinuation that making comments on national issues requires qualification is wrong. Anyone, even the nontaxpayers can comment on social issues. But, make sure, they make sense and with basis.

But what sparked Atty Nick! When PNoy administration was hounded by SAF 44, Yolanda, and Tanim Bala, Where was Jen? Atty. Nick asked. And unexpectedly, after the pandemic, she has found her voice. He can’t help but get curious about Jen’s enthusiasm.

To Jens’ allegation of being silenced, he wondered why she’s plastering her face and tweets all over TV5? He has advised Jennylyn to challenge her detractors. This is up to her if she gets up to social problems despite her ignorance and only keeps silent regardless of her intellectual degree.

On Jennylyn lamenting about Filipinos forgetting how to respect the opinion of other people and asking if respecting others isn’t one of the teachings of one’s parents? Atty. Nick turned the tables around by reminding Jen another learning from our elders.

Atty. Nick ended the FB post by connecting the conversation about respect and listening to elders and to Jen Mercado’s past.
